Birds

At Portasol, over 250 bird species have been recorded thanks to the blend of tropical forest, rivers, and proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Toucans, hummingbirds, trogons, and migratory birds are part of the daily landscape, creating an ideal environment for birdwatching year-round.

Mammals

The forest and biological corridors surrounding Portasol allow the presence of species such as sloths, monkeys, armadillos, raccoons, tayras, and small felines. Many of these animals are frequently captured by trail cameras, highlighting the richness and health of the ecosystem.

Reptiles and amphibians

The humidity of the tropical forest supports a wide variety of snakes, lizards, frogs, and toads, commonly found along trails, riverbanks, and dense vegetation areas. At night, it is possible to observe more active species, especially amphibians around streams and natural ponds.
